Featured Design Element: Greek Key
The fact that we’re all design lovers here might lead you to believe we completely eschew any of our collective design history, but that’s just not true. We often look to historical styles for classic motifs and elements. One such element that pops up from time to time as the hot new pattern is the Greek key design.
Undeniably geometric, the charm of the Greek key is its simplicity and versatility. Much like the chevron, there aren’t many elements that are involved in creating a Greek key design, but you can alter its scale to alter its impact, and like a thin model in early 20s, just about any color looks good on it. Tobi Fairley, interior designer, did a great round up on her blog of some photos with Greek key designs. Not only is it a fun game trying to spot them, but it just might give you some ideas on how to incorporate this classic motif into your own modern home.
