Community Architecture Lab Helps Kids Build Chicken Coops From Discarded Lumber
Non-profit Community Architecture Lab recently conducted its Extreme Fort Building class at a local elementary school and taught kids how to build their very own chicken coops. Designed for kids between ages 8-14, the class taught the fundamentals of geometry, structural engineering, carpentry and animal husbandry, all within the framework of design. The children also got the opportunity to learn how to breathe life into recycled materials as the coops were made from discarded lumber.
