UK Town Proposes Heating Public Pool With Excess Heat from a Crematorium
A local government in the United Kingdom has brought a plan in front of their community to save money by heating their public pool with excess heat from the crematorium next door. Redditch council in Worcestershire has discovered that by diverting heat from the crematorium that would generally be, “heating the sky,” they could save a whopping £14,500 — that’s about $23,000. If finished the project would be the first of its kind in the UK and though the cash savings and emissions decrease sound delightful, some local residents think the idea is anything but cheery.
